Record Breaking Virtual Iftars unite over 75,000 during Ramadan

Over 75,000 people took part in the Naz Legacy virtual iftars series during Ramadan via Zoom, Facebook and Muslim media channels in the UK.  The events organised by the Naz Legacy Foundation brought together for the first time all the UK’s major faith leaders including the Archbishop of Canterbury, Chief Rabbi, Cardinal Nichols and Bishop of London and Imam Mahmoud, the Hero Imam from the Mosque terror attack in Finsbury Park, all at one iftar as well as HRH Prince of Wales and leading members of the Government and Opposition including Sadiq Khan Mayor of London, Dominic Raab Foreign Secretary, Keir Starmer Leader of the Opposition, Matt Hancock Heath Secretary and more.

Sajidah Patel, Director of the Naz Legacy Iftars said, “Our series of virtual iftars which have reached over 75,000 people across the UK, with over 305,000 watching the highlights and growing each day. They have helped people from all faiths and none to join in and celebrate Ramadan, despite us all having to stay home during this crisis.  We are all immensely grateful for all the amazing speakers and panelists that took part in these iftars which were not only truly unique but also ground breaking.”
