On Monday 15th April the Edinburgh TV Festival is teaming up with BBC Three to speak to an industry panel about how they got their start in TV and the different opportunities available in telly outside of London.

The panel will feature special guest, BBC presenter and actor Mim Shaikh whose recent BBC Three documentary Finding Dad, followed an emotional and the diffiult journey as he tracked down and met his biological father for the first time.

Lisa Campbell, Festival Director at the Edinburgh TV Festival said: “
Too many young people we meet outside of London think a TV career in is not an option for them. They are also unaware of the wide range of roles that exist. The TV Festival’s outreach and Talent Schemes aim to change that by showcasing the best talent who share their personal journeys to help encourage and inspire the next generation. We’re delighted to be partnering with BBC Three to show what’s possible.”

The panel will look to explore how the industry can look to further improve diversity and the importance of finding new voices. They will also be giving us their tops tips, on getting in, staying in and thriving in TV.
